University gospel choirs to sing at scholarship fund benefit concert
The gospel choirs from the University of Akron, Kent State University and Case Western Reserve University will be among the musical guests next Saturday at a concert to benefit the scholarship fund at United Baptist ChurchIn addition to the three university choirs, the program will include selections from Amber Cobb and Company and soloists Cynthia Bowers and Jocelyn Grant. Robin Angela, a spoken word artist, and members of S.L.A.M. (Spoken Like A Metaphor) will also perform. S.L.A.M. is a UA organization that gives students an opportunity to artistically express themselves in the area of performance art, slam poetry and spoken word.The concert begins at 6 p.m. at the church, 1007 S.
